About the Position

The Department of English at the University of South Carolina is seeking a highly qualified Instructor to teach undergraduate courses in speech communication and rhetoric. The successful candidate will have a strong background in communication studies and a proven track record of teaching excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in public speaking, business communication, and/or oral argument and debate
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
  • Provide individualized support and feedback to students
  • Stay current with developments in the field of communication studies
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Communication Studies or a closely related field
  • At least two years of experience teaching speech communication courses at the college level
  • Strong teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Communication with experience teaching courses in rhetoric
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment
