Position Overview:

Role of the Court Liaison:
The Court Liaison will serve as a vital link between the Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) program and designated courts across the boroughs. A foundational understanding of ATI programs and the Supreme and Criminal Court Systems is essential. The Court Liaison is tasked with engaging clients and their families to elucidate the program, gather pertinent information, assess family needs, and conduct program intakes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates engagement with potential ATI participants and their families within the judicial system.
  • Conducts comprehensive program intakes with clients and their families.
  • Maintains robust relationships with judges, legal guardians, and court partners.
  • Collaborates with participants and service staff to evaluate program outcomes.
  • Collects and monitors screening information, including intake and re-arrest cases, while tracking cases to closure.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with relevant court personnel and stakeholders.
  • Provides essential case information to the Case Manager, including court-imposed conditions and participant details.
  • Demonstrates a keen interest in and sensitivity to the challenges faced by youth in the criminal justice system and their families.
  • Exhibits strong analytical skills to gather and assess information, formulating compelling arguments for program eligibility.
  • Ensures timely documentation and reporting across all entry systems.
  • Inputs intakes and relevant data into the agency's database system.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Senior Court Liaison.

Compensation: Salary range is $51,000/year - $58,300/year.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English or other languages) are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry systems.
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior staff and program personnel.
  • Familiarity with Alternative to Detention (ATD) and Alternative to Incarceration (ATI) program models.

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Juvenile Justice and Alternative to Incarceration programs.
  • Familiarity with Supreme and Criminal Court systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and well-being.
