We are currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a vital link between our management team, tenants, and our legal counsel representing us as 'The Landlord' in housing court proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

Lease Enforcement / Court Liaison

Daily Responsibilities
  • Tenant Relations: Address tenant inquiries, process rent payments, and manage tenant accounts. Communicate regarding returned checks due to non-renewal or eviction, and complete rental verification forms. Review and process eviction notices and respond to tenant concerns.
  • Eviction Management: Schedule and manage evictions with Marshals, coordinate moving services for evicted tenants, and monitor signed or rejected warrants. Review monthly arrears reports and initiate legal actions as necessary.
  • Legal Follow-Up: Track all pending legal actions on the Due Dates Report, including DNAR, Stipulations, Non-Pays, and Holdovers, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.
  • Data Management: Enter and update all relevant details and actions taken in Yardi, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Court Preparation: Prepare necessary audits for court appearances and upon tenant requests.
  • Court Representation: Act as a witness for the landlord in housing and small claims court.
  • Property Management Communication: Keep the Property Manager and Residential Property Administrator informed about HPD cases and violations, as well as work tickets and repairs as per court stipulations.
  • Documentation: Document details following court cases and follow up on payments and defaults.
  • Updates: Keep company personnel informed on all holdover proceedings and follow up on requested work tickets and repairs.
  • Notarization: Provide notarization services for documents as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Yardi Voyager is advantageous
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proactive follow-up skills with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to handle a demanding workload
