Job Description Summary

The Power Conversion branch of GE Vernova is seeking talented individuals to join its multicultural, multigeneration, and diverse Power Electronics team. As a Lead Power Electronics Hardware Development Engineer, you will be part of a global engineering team responsible for designing and developing high-performance power electronics converters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong theoretical and mathematical background, with the ability to understand new concepts and communicate information clearly. You will be passionate about designing and controlling low, middle, and high-voltage power electronics converters, delivering high performance in challenging environments.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Simulate and design power electronics converters for industrial applications, such as marine propulsion, oil and gas, metals rolling mills, and power generation.
  • Specify electrical and mechanical component BOM while working closely with the Design Office and Manufacturing.
  • Write product artifacts, including manufacturing and commissioning instructions.
  • Design new voltage source inverters (IGBT or SiC) and new thyristor converters (rectifier LCI).
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • OR Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in power electronics converters design.
