Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Power Electronics Engineer to join our team at Jabil. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of power electronics products from requirements development to manufacturing transfer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead designs of power electronics products, including power converters, energy storage systems, and battery management systems.
  • Assist system architect in developing product requirements from customer input.
  • Apply applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Select key components with an emphasis on cost reduction.
  • Capture schematics and supervise layout engineers.
  • Perform design analysis, including DFMEA, worst case circuit analysis, and simulations.
  • Develop test plans against customer requirements.
  • Debug prototype units using standard lab equipment.
  • Execute verification test plan using standard lab equipment.
  • Write manufacturing test specifications.
  • Represent Jabil Design Engineering in technical customer discussions.
  • Perform design reviews.
  • Provide guidance to junior engineers.
Requirements
  • High power (>1kW) power electronics design experience.
  • Mains voltage design (120VAC+) experience.
  • Successful transfer to manufacturing and commercial product launches.
  • Circuit analysis of power converter topologies.
  • Debug and testing using standard lab equipment.
  • Testing to regulatory compliance standards such as IEC x.
  • Schematic capture process using at least one ECAD tool, such as Altium, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor Xpedition.
Education and Work History Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
  • A Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of relative experience in electrical hardware design is required.
  • Experience leading entire design cycles from concept to production.
Desired Experience and Abilities
  • ESS-related standards: UL1741, UL9540, UL1973, UL2202, or similar.
  • Safety critical systems.
  • SPICE, Matlab/Octave, Simulink, MathCAD, PSIM, or similar.
  • Simulation tools such as the Ansys suite.
  • High volume manufacturing.
