About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Golf Course Maintenance Manager to join our team at Bonita Bay Club. As an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, you will play a critical role in ensuring the daily maintenance activities of our private upscale golf course are carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and Direct Daily Activities: Oversee the daily operations of the Golf Course Maintenance Staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards.
  • Maintenance Standards: Implement and monitor established golf course maintenance standards to ensure superior playing conditions for our members.
  • Facility Safety and Security: Supervise the general safety and security of the maintenance facility and its physical assets.
  • Staff Leadership: Lead staff through outlined systems and procedures, maintaining professional, mutually respectful relationships with all golf course staff.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the Golf Course Superintendent to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Work Environment: Ensure a clean, healthy, and safe working environment for all staff members.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor's degree, associate of science degree, or a certificate in Horticulture with previous experience in a supervisory/management role.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Requires management, leadership, and people skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills are also necessary, including proficiency in industry-specific technology such as Rain Bird Cirrus, Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge and Certifications: Requires a working knowledge of the game of golf, golf course-related equipment, computerized golf course irrigation systems, and knowledge of IPM systems. A valid Florida driver's license is also required, as well as a current State of Florida Ornamental and Turf Restricted Use Pesticide License within the first six months of employment.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires the individual to maintain flexible availability, with availability to work weekends and holidays. May be required to return to the job site at odd hours under emergencies. The nature of the position also requires the individual to spend long periods of time on their feet, walking, standing, and stooping.
