Position: Equipment Maintenance Technician at Bay Colony Golf Club

SUMMARY: This role involves supporting the equipment manager in the upkeep and repair of various types of machinery, including diesel, electric, and gasoline-powered equipment. The technician will also assist in the daily setup of necessary machinery and contribute to a thorough preventive maintenance program.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time position with hours and days varying based on the operational needs of the golf course and club grounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of golf course and landscaping machinery to ensure optimal functionality, including mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, rollers, and small engine tools.
  • Monitor equipment performance on the course and perform emergency repairs as required.
  • Report any equipment-related issues and maintenance concerns to management.
  • Prepare, modify, and service cutting equipment as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment and ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
  • Provide instruction and training to golf course maintenance staff on safe operating procedures and equipment cleaning.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the maintenance facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive systems.
  • Ability to identify mechanical issues and determine suitable repairs.
  • Skilled in utilizing various equipment repair tools.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of golf and how maintenance impacts course conditions.
  • Capability to perform welding tasks.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Ability to work extended hours in diverse weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.

This position requires work in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to varying and potentially adverse weather conditions. The role involves exposure to loud noises, vibrations, fumes, airborne particles, grease, oil, and chemicals. It includes active, physical work that may involve heavy lifting (over 50 pounds), carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking long distances, and operating equipment for extended periods. Vision adjustments, depth perception, and clear close and distant vision are necessary. Use of hearing protection, eye protection, and other safety equipment is required. The role may involve light public interaction.
