About Our ClientOur client is a leading automotive manufacturer with several production sites around Springfield, MA. They are seeking a strategic leader to oversee managers, supervisors, and production personnel at one of these sites.
Job DescriptionIn this role, you will report to the Area Manager and be responsible for:
- Overseeing and directing daily activities of roughly 20 employees in production, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor goals are met.
- Optimizing material flow and managing manpower and equipment efficiently.
- Developing and implementing continuous improvement plans for equipment and department processes.
- Creating and tracking the annual department budget, focusing on reducing production and MRO supply costs.
- Maintaining working relationships with departments like Planning, Sales, Engineering, and Production.
- Understanding and applying company policies, work rules, and the Union Contract.
- Resolving work issues and assisting employees in problem-solving.
- Maintaining accurate time, attendance, and inventory records.
- Coordinating with Group Leaders and employees on departmental activities.
- Making daily decisions on production schedules and personnel matters affecting delivery and quality.

The successful candidate will have:
- 7+ years of production/assembly supervising experience.
- Strong leadership track record.
- Continuous improvement and LEAN mindset.
- Experience in a Union shop preferred.
- Project management and ISO knowledge.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
