About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Nurse Surveyor II in the Office of Inspector General (OIG) at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections of healthcare facilities and services to ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and CMS regulations.
  • Coordinate and assist in the enforcement of state licensing regulations for health facilities.
  • Perform certification surveys and investigations to determine compliance with CMS regulations.
  • Complete all aspects of the survey process, including training and obtaining Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test certification.
  • Assist in the development of program information and materials.
  • Observe the quality of patient care and associated medical records.
  • Participate in conferences, webinars, and other types of training to improve knowledge and skills related to regulation of healthcare facilities.
Requirements
  • Must have two years' experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Must be licensed in Kentucky as a practical nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a healthcare setting, involves traversing health care facilities, and will sometimes require observation of home health agencies in private residences. Overtime, travel, overnight stays, and weekend work are required if on survey team.
