Key Responsibilities- Assist senior surveyors in conducting comprehensive surveys and investigations to evaluate compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in the certification survey process for long-term care facilities, ensuring adherence to Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
- Utilize observational and analytical skills to assess patient care quality and maintain accurate medical records.
- Gather and analyze nursing assessment data to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the development of program materials, including reports and deficiency statements.
- Evaluate corrective actions taken by facilities in response to compliance failures.
- Provide guidance to healthcare facilities regarding state and federal regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulations and policies accurately.
- Flexibility in work schedules and travel requirements.
- Proficient writing and speaking skills.
- Experience with technology, including computers and mobile devices.
- Physical stamina to navigate large healthcare facilities during inspections.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse is required.
- A bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
This position involves extensive travel within the state, including overnight stays and weekend work, depending on survey requirements. The role is primarily conducted in healthcare settings, necessitating the ability to traverse various facilities.
Licensure RequirementsApplicants must hold a valid Kentucky practical nurse license or a work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. Maintaining required licensure and certifications is essential for continued employment in this position.
