POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Mammography Technologist operates under the guidance of the Radiologist, ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services.

This role involves employing advanced positioning techniques to capture precise and dependable images for both screening and diagnostic mammograms, adhering to the standards set forth by the ACR Manual.

The technologist is responsible for the operation of mammography and x-ray equipment, as well as film processing systems. Additionally, this position includes the use of ultrasound technology to generate superior breast sonograms and assist in various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The technologist will also operate breast core biopsy instruments and facilitate procedures such as galactography, needle localization, and fine needle aspiration. It is essential to perform and accurately document the technical components of the QA/QC program for mammography. Proficiency in PC and RIS systems is required. The technologist will also undertake various administrative tasks and projects as assigned, and will assume departmental responsibilities in the absence of the senior technologist.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have completed an accredited mammography program or an equivalent, along with certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT(R)(M)). Completion of the MQSA Initial Training in Mammography contact hours and the Mammographic Modality course is mandatory. Licensure from the Texas Department of Health is also required. Candidates must fulfill the clinical ladder competencies associated with this position. A minimum of five years of experience in mammography within a comprehensive breast center is necessary, with at least one year of managerial experience preferred. Additionally, candidates must meet the clinical ladder competencies required for this role.
