Position Summary

We are currently seeking skilled Mammography Technologists to provide essential support in our healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and ensure they receive appropriate care, which may involve scheduling appointments, managing patient reception, and providing necessary procedural instructions. Assess if any special preparation is needed for specific mammography procedures.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and warm-up procedures for all mammography equipment. Perform comprehensive quality control inspections on mammography units and radiologist reading stations, adhering to daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules.
  • Execute screening and diagnostic mammograms, including spot compressions and magnification views as required. Accurately position patients and make necessary adjustments for optimal examination results. Maintain a sterile environment and assist radiologists during ultrasound and specialized procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgical and mammography nursing staff to ensure accurate order entry into the Military Health System Genesis for all positive biopsy cases, facilitating proper referrals and documentation.
  • Organize and prepare the weekly biopsy schedule for the mammography radiologist and associated staff.

Qualifications

  • Education: A minimum of an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiological Technology or completion of at least twenty-four (24) months in an accredited Radiological Technology program.
  • Certifications: ARRT Certification is required. Completion of Certified Operator Training on specific Prodigy/Lunar (GE) Bone Densitometer equipment within 30 days of employment.
  • Licensure: Must possess and maintain a current, valid, and unrestricted license from a US jurisdiction for independent practice within the defined specialty.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of mammography experience within the last three years is essential.
  • CPR Certification: Must hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as recognized by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Completion of a NACI background check is required.
