Job Summary

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in our Cardiology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Obtain relevant health and medical history, perform thorough physical assessments, review and interpret diagnostic tests/results, develop and implement treatment plans, and prescribe/order evidence-based pharmacological agents.
  • Education: Educate patients and families regarding medical conditions, treatment, and follow-up, collaborate with clinicians and staff to promote continuity and patient-centered care, and develop educational materials based on learning needs.
  • Leadership: Provide instruction to physicians, house staff, nursing, ancillaries, and students, participate in community/network outreach programs, and develop/lead community/network outreach programs.
  • Professionalism: Interact with patients and families in a respectful, courteous, and timely fashion, interact collaboratively with coworkers and other team members, and respond quickly to meet customer needs and resolve problems.
  • Quality/Research: Engage in daily continuous quality improvement, consult with management in assessment, problem-solving, decision-making, and evaluating clinical/system issues and models of care, and develop new clinical programs or services within the department/unit/clinic to improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (i.e., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Certified Nurse Midwife) in the state of North Carolina. Board certification if required by the Department. DEA.
  • No prior experience required, but management strongly prefers candidates with 2 years of experience.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position at UNC Faculty Physicians, with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week. The work assignment type is onsite, and the work schedule is day job. The location of the job is US:NC:Chapel Hill.
