Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Augment primary healthcare physicians in making medical diagnoses and planning treatment.
  • Practice with a physician who is ultimately responsible.
  • Perform intraoperative surgical assistance, including vein and artery harvest for bypass conduit.
  • Independently perform clinical duties in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist physicians in assigned areas and act as a liaison between team members and other areas of the institution.
  • Prescribe drugs as outlined in departmental procedures and protocols.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as reviewing patient charts and OR procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, house staff, and nurses in development of protocols.
  • Participate in educational and research activities, including orientation and instruction of medical students and house staff.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited graduate-level Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) program.
  • Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider in the state of North Carolina.
  • Board certification if required by the Department.
  • DEA certification.
Work Environment

UNC Health Care System, UNC Faculty Physicians, UNC FP General Pediatrics.

Work Schedule

Per Diem, 16.00 standard hours per week, Day Job.
