We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Materials Science to join our faculty at Georgia Southern University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in materials science, developing an externally funded research program, and contributing to the department's service activities.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in materials science, including lectures, laboratories, and seminars.
- Develop and maintain an externally funded research program in materials science, with a focus on undergraduate and graduate student engagement.
- Contribute to the department's service activities, including committee work, advising, and outreach.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in a field of science with a research emphasis in materials science, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a strong research background in materials science. The candidate should also have a willingness to support our current graduate programs and contribute to the growth of graduate programs in the department.
Preferred QualificationsConsideration may be given to candidates with postdoctoral experience, teaching experience, and a strong research background in materials science.
