Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Analytics

The Department of Information Systems and Analytics in the Parker College of Business at Georgia Southern University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in productive discipline-related research and scholarship, be committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and contribute to a positive work environment in the Department, College, and University.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems, developing and implementing a research agenda, publishing in high-quality IS or closely related discipline journals, and contributing to departmental and university service. The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
Requirements
A PhD, or DBA, in Information Systems or a closely related field, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Information Systems, from an AACSB accredited school is required. Evidence of the ability to develop and implement a research agenda and publish in high-quality IS or closely related discipline journals is also required. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate effective communication skills, a willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives, and a commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in ongoing professional development within the discipline, evidence of quality teaching and research excellence including grant activities, and teaching and research interest in areas such as enterprise systems, business analytics, machine learning, and programming are preferred qualifications.
