Your Responsibilities

The HVAC Service Sales Representative plays a vital role in driving the growth and profitability of our HVAC Service division. The selected individual will be tasked with initiating, establishing, and nurturing profitable service relationships with new clients. The primary focus will be on promoting renewable maintenance agreements as a foundational element for these relationships. The representative will operate within a designated geographic area, collaborating with local branch office teams and sales and operations professionals. Utilizing sales tools to track and document progress, the representative will also seek to expand business opportunities within existing accounts, with expectations to secure and finalize business on a monthly basis.


Key Activities

  • Employ a structured and professional approach to identify, target, and qualify potential new clients; leverage market conditions and networks to discover new leads.
  • Engage with prospective clients and arrange meetings, while building a referral network to identify additional customers.
  • Conduct sales discussions aimed at uncovering critical issues and dissatisfaction faced by Facility Directors in managing heating, cooling, ventilation, and control systems.
  • Cultivate a sense of urgency to address client needs, positioning Johnson Controls as the preferred supplier. Propose tailored solutions that leverage local branch service capabilities, emphasizing renewable maintenance agreements, digital services, sustainability, and decarbonization.
  • Prepare and finalize proposals with potential clients, securing their commitment to Johnson Controls solutions.
  • Facilitate customer initiation meetings, address client concerns, create opportunities for additional services, maintain service agreements, and support the collections process.
  • Keep management updated on progress and account status using Johnson Controls tools and other communication methods, knowing when to seek assistance to keep the sales process on track.
  • Develop and execute territory marketing strategies aligned with Johnson Controls Building Solutions business objectives. Participate in trade shows and professional organizations.
  • Represent Johnson Controls with professionalism, adhering to the highest standards of quality, integrity, and performance.

Qualifications We Seek

Essential:

  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in sales roles.

Desirable:

  • Strong technical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging both individuals and groups.
  • Experience in selling services and intangible products.
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies, standards, and practices.
  • Bonus Qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of Building HVAC Systems.
  • Relevant experience in the field.
  • Post-secondary education.
