Job Title: Industrial Engineer

Bollinger Motors is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team at our contract manufacturing facility in Livonia, MI. As an Industrial Engineer, you will play a critical role in improving efficiency, productivity, and overall performance at our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify production bottlenecks and develop strategies to address them.
  • Deliver strategic inputs for manufacturing plans, labor targets, productivity improvements, operations strategy, and manufacturing readiness valuations.
  • Examine and evaluate different systems on the plant floor, including manufacturing, delivery, and customer experience, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect data through observations, time studies, and surveys to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct what-if scenarios to evaluate staffing, capacity, and schedule requirements.
  • Establish methods for maximum utilization of facilities and personnel.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, and the purchase/lease/maintenance of equipment.
  • Present findings, analysis, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Design processes, systems, and enhancements that align with the overall plan and vision for the manufacturing site and improve productivity, efficiency, and space.
  • Design layouts for product lines and redesign work areas to reduce repetitive motions and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments to develop a world-class manufacturing facility.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial engineering experience in the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with time/motion studies, development of standardized work, and standard data.
  • Ability to apply strong principles and analytical techniques to continuously improve the manufacturing process.
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of traditional lean manufacturing systems.
  • Understanding of low-volume manufacturing.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization from shop floor to management.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
