Position Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee, coordinate, implement, and evaluate all components of the Clubhouse initiative.
  2. Accountable for continuous monitoring and training of team members.
  3. Manage transportation arrangements for clubhouse participants as directed by the Clubhouse Director.
  4. Ensure timely completion and submission of payroll and HR documentation as required by the Director.
  5. Engage in the systematic intake and discharge processes.
  6. Collaborate with program staff to guarantee that each participant receives tailored services that meet their individual needs.
  7. Work alongside members in planning and executing all facets of the Clubhouse Model, actively involving them in work-ordered day activities, including transportation, outreach, wellness, and social/recreational events, in accordance with Clubhouse International standards.
  8. Assist members in accessing entitlement benefits, psychiatric and medical care, and utilizing community-based services, natural supports, and self-help groups to achieve greater self-sufficiency, choice, and community involvement.
  9. Support clubhouse members in establishing goals related to Clubhouse engagement, employment, education, housing, and social interaction.
  10. Aid clubhouse members in developing and securing transitional employment (TE), supported, independent, or enclave positions, including evaluation, coaching, and support in alignment with Clubhouse International Standards.
  11. Address the needs and challenges of members using de-escalation techniques to manage disruptive behaviors with practical guidance aimed at achieving aspirations and fostering cooperation.
  12. Collaborate with members and staff in formulating Clubhouse policies and enhancing the overall welfare of the Clubhouse.
  13. Provide coverage in the absence of the Clubhouse Director.
  14. Advocate for the Clubhouse philosophy by assisting members in promoting the program through community presentations.
  15. Contribute to the research and preparation of necessary reports to assess service quality and outcome achievement for funding sources, regulatory bodies, audits, and accreditation agencies, while staying informed on professional developments and trends relevant to the clubhouse model.
  16. Ensure adherence to all safety standards and procedures.
  17. Participate in relevant program/community meetings, seminars, and conferences as approved, including comprehensive, regional, and assigned training.
  18. Obtain and maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
  19. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to human services; State of Michigan licensure in a related area is a plus. Completion of Clubhouse International/Comprehensive training within 12 months is required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with adults facing serious mental health challenges, preferably within a clubhouse environment.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
  • In-depth understanding of the Clubhouse Model.
  • Familiarity with recipient rights.
  • Knowledge of SAMSHA/evidence-based practices/psychiatric rehabilitation services and vocational strategies.
  • Ability to effectively engage individuals in a communal setting while ensuring collaborative involvement in all program operations.
  • Capability to support, monitor, supervise, and train program staff while maintaining engagement levels.
  • Must possess active listening and de-escalation skills to constructively address inappropriate behaviors in challenging situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and optimize resources through coordination and linkages to community agencies, including community presentations.
  • Proficient in building positive and engaging relationships with members, staff, and community partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Involves walking, stooping, standing, sitting, bending, and reaching.
  • May require lifting, moving, or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Must maintain a high level of alertness and respond quickly to emergencies.
MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to remain objective and respond appropriately while interacting with members and employees.
  • Must prioritize and complete multiple assignments within designated timeframes.
  • Effective decision-making, conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Must be able to motivate others, demonstrate a positive attitude, and convey a vibrant energy that fosters collaboration among members and staff.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw conclusions objectively.
  • Ability to respond appropriately while serving multiple customers in diverse and sometimes challenging situations.
MACHINES/EQUIPMENT:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and Internet applications.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment, including calculators, copiers, faxes, printers, and telephones.
  • Ability to use and operate kitchen appliances and equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Interactive role with customers and staff in office, instructional, industrial, and community environments.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Engage members, staff, and community contacts in various working environments, including office and community-based settings.
OTHER:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and a driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to obtain a Chauffeur's license within 30 days of employment to transport members in agency vehicles.
  • Annual criminal background checks will be required for employees serving mental health trainees within behavioral health services programs.
