Position Overview
Leidos is in search of a Windows / Linux System Administrator possessing an active TS/SCI clearance. This role is pivotal in delivering specialized Cyber Security and Information Technology (IT) support for IT resources and users, enhancing Scientific and Technical Intelligence (S&TI) analysis and production.
As an integral member of the Systems Administration team, you will oversee and maintain specialized mission IT systems, including advanced workstations across a spectrum of Windows and Linux IT assets. Your responsibilities will also encompass various exploitation systems and laboratory equipment, which may include microscopes, X-ray machines, network analyzers, and more.
Your daily tasks will significantly influence operational effectiveness and assist in the implementation of the latest capabilities of advanced systems, while developing technical solutions to complex problems that may not be immediately apparent, ensuring customer objectives are met efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Windows and Linux mission systems along with their associated hardware.
- Build, troubleshoot, and manage VMWare virtual machines within a Dell Blade cluster environment.
- Oversee systems infrastructure, implementing best practices, recommending functional specifications, and managing backup and recovery processes.
- Administer high availability and various storage systems, including NETAPP Enterprise storage devices and NAS.
- Configure and manage Cisco switches and routers for diverse networks, ensuring secure connections.
- Collaborate across IT domains and teams, influencing leadership regarding solution design and ensuring all systems meet mission requirements.
- Utilize system monitoring tools to assess vulnerabilities across servers and desktops.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% within the local area may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- Active IAT Level II DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of acceptance.
- 7+ years of experience in configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux systems.
- Experience in validating security control compliance using STIGs and ACAS.
- Proficiency in Storage Area Networks and related technologies.
- Strong knowledge of CISCO router and switch configuration and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with hands-on experience in administration functions.
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
- Experience with rack-mounted server hardware and large data center operations.
- Certifications such as CISSP or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP).
