Internship Overview

The tax and consulting internship is a seasonal opportunity designed to provide hands-on experience in a professional setting. This position will require in-office participation.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 150 credit hours
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
Technical Skills
  • Competent in preparing basic individual tax returns
  • Recognizes the significance of accurate and efficient completion of tax returns and assigned tasks
  • Familiarity with fundamental financial statements
  • Ability to identify source documents and their relevance (K-1's, W-2's, 1099's)
  • Knowledge of Fixed Assets program, including asset entry and preparation of PPT returns
  • Capable of identifying necessary payroll tax return filings, such as 941, 940, W-2, 1099's and understanding their significance
  • Ability to identify and explain the purpose of 1040, 1041, 1065, and 1120 returns
  • Understanding of the AICPA's rules, regulations, and professional code of conduct
  • Grasp of basic accounting principles
  • Proficient in the use of debits & credits and the relationship between accounts
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving goals
  • Experience with accounting software through academic coursework
