Operations Supervisor I/II Job Description

First National Bank Alaska is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor I/II to oversee and direct the primary function of bank operations at our Muldoon Branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring a consistent high-quality customer service experience, training and coaching Universal Tellers and/or Personal Bankers, and working closely with the Branch Manager to meet critical timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Promote exceptional customer service through coaching and mentoring, and ensure a positive branch experience.
  2. Develop and implement training programs to further the career development of branch staff.
  3. Engage with customers to build and deepen relationships, promoting all areas of the bank to retain and expand the branch's deposit portfolio.
  4. Supervise daily branch operations to comply with bank policy, procedures, and banking regulations.
  5. Act as a digital expert, communicating and demonstrating the bank's products and services to customers.
  6. Collaborate with management and personal bankers to develop new business and promote the bank's One Solution approach.
  7. Maintain branch security and minimize losses and/or risk.
  8. Research and resolve out-of-balance conditions, customer discrepancies, and errors.
  9. Perform other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance, and two years of bank operations/deposit experience, or four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
  • Strong customer service experience and six months in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Preferred: Sales experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Word processing and spreadsheet software experience required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, frequent deadlines, and time constraints.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Skills:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
  • Work environment is usually moderate.
  • Some overtime and weekend work may be required.
