Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer nursing care under direct supervision to assigned residents, ensuring their physical and mental comfort.
  • Provide hygienic care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living, and report any unusual conditions to the registered nurse.
  • Prepare unit, resident rooms, and beds for receiving admissions, transfers, and emergencies, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Transport residents to and from units under the direction of the RN, adhering to transfer technique policies and procedures.
  • Assist in and accompany residents during admission, discharge, and transfer procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Prepare residents for meals and help feed them as assigned, following ORZAC's feeding techniques.
  • Provide constant observation for residents requiring increased security to prevent harmful behavior.
  • Collect specimens, label them properly, and transport them to the designated area in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents, washing equipment and ensuring work areas are clean and well-stocked.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant Program; Certified by the New York State Department of Health.
  • Minimum of one (1) year related experience.
