Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in Nassau County. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide general nursing care to patients, including administering prescribed medications and treatments.
- Assist with applicant screening, selection, training, providing feedback for performance evaluations, and providing information related to employee discipline and termination of staff.
- Prepare equipment and aid the Physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Prepare prescriptions or medication refills, for review and signature by provider.
- Contact patients with test results and provide recommendations on cases per Physician determination and/or standards of care.
- Facilitate clinical messages and chronic condition management education to patients.
- Triage urgent same day or double booked appointment requests.
- Document progress notes in electronic health record within 24 hours.
- Manage in-basket requests and responds to all requests in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
- 1+ year of related Nursing experience in Ambulatory and/or Hospital setting.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Gastro / GI experience or experience in an Operating Room, PACU, and/or Medical-Surgical setting.
- Knowledge of Medical Chart Reporting.
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills.
- Patient oriented.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in a Cardiology and/or similar setting.
- Working knowledge of Epic EMRs.
