Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Under the guidance of the Senior Human Resource Manager, the Payroll and Benefits Business Partner is responsible for ensuring the precise and timely execution of payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, while serving as the primary resource for employee benefits in alignment with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the payroll and benefits policies and procedures for the organization.
  • Review the bi-weekly and bi-monthly payroll processes to guarantee that all employees receive their compensation accurately and on time.
  • Manage the administration of benefit programs and ensure the enrollment of all eligible personnel.
  • Collaborate with senior management to evaluate the existing benefit program and propose enhancements.
  • Supervise the workflow (both manual and electronic) to ensure accurate processing of benefits transactions by both ADP and non-ADP service providers, including Section 125/FSA, COBRA, and 401(k).
  • Ensure compliance with 5500 Plan filings.
  • Conduct open enrollment sessions to inform employees about benefit options and address any inquiries.
  • Act as an intermediary between employees and benefit providers during the claims process.
  • Monitor changes to federal and state regulations regarding benefits and payroll, providing suggestions for improvements to the Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, etc.), or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing and related functions.
  • Solid understanding of payroll policies, procedures, regulations, and systems for payroll/tax reporting.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and problem-solving abilities in a payroll context.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused, self-motivated, results-oriented individual with a keen attention to quality, detail, and accuracy.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in Payroll, Accounting, HRIS, and project coordination is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of ADP's WFN (or similar enterprise payroll and health & welfare) products and proficiency in navigating the ADP organization (or similar) to resolve client inquiries is preferred.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal and conflict management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills, effective time management, and demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
