Job Summary

Enviri Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing waste streams, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Waste Analysis: Collect and test waste stream samples, using applied methods and techniques, to ensure compliance with permit requirements.
  • Lab Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment, perform quality control and quality assurance tasks, and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemical agents.
  • Data Entry: Enter quantities, volumes, and analytical results into waste management software.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards, including OSHA regulations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Two-year degree in a science-related discipline.
  • Experience: 1+ years of bench experience in analytical chemistry.
  • Skills: Ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively, and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift 25 pounds periodically, and complete 40-hour OSHA training with 8-hour refresher courses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: A degree in Chemistry or Biology.
  • Industry Experience: 2+ years of experience in the hazardous waste industry.
  • Knowledge: Working knowledge of BTUs, water content, and flash point tests.
