Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Business Operations to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for directing the financial, operational, and administrative activities of our department, including income generation, expense management, and program development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct all business operations of the department, including accounting, payroll, purchasing, budgets, asset management, contract negotiations, audits, and other related functions.
  • Develop and implement business plans for new and ongoing business ventures, ensuring alignment with our organization's strategic goals.
  • Participate in and contribute to College of Medicine/UC Physicians committees and task forces, as well as continuing education activities.
  • Lead the long-term strategic planning process of the department, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our operations.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on key issues impacting the department.
  • Oversee the facilities management of the department, including the development of new space, renovation of existing space, and relocation to alternate space.
  • Support compliance activities, including research, regulatory compliance, clinical trials, billing, and other related functions.
  • Develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies to promote our department's activities and services.
  • Support the development efforts of the department, including fundraising and grant writing.
  • Enforce the corporate practice plan and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and manage exempt and non-exempt staff, including hiring, firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, and time-off approval.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience in a medical physician group, medical school, university, research organization, or healthcare organization.
  • Additional qualifications considered include experience in business operations, financial management, and strategic planning.
