Admissions Coordinator

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate referrals from healthcare institutions, facilities, and community organizations for both medical and psychological needs, ensuring timely responses in line with organizational policies.
  • Address inquiries regarding the facility and offer suitable recommendations based on individual circumstances.
  • Conduct evaluations to ascertain the suitable level of care required within the organization.
  • Collaborate with medical and psychiatric staff to ensure appropriate recommendations and facilitate admissions.
  • Oversee the admissions process for new patients, including evaluations, consent forms, and the management of patient belongings.
  • Execute insurance benefit verifications and obtain initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission.
  • Track patient progress throughout the admissions process in accordance with organizational policies and/or physician directives.
  • Utilize various online platforms to monitor and assess referrals.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  • Undertake other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL/PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Social Work, Sociology, or a related discipline.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational setting, ideally within the relevant specialty of the organization.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are mandatory (training will be provided upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be required based on state regulations or organizational policies.
Qualifications

Education

Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology or a related field.

Experience

Preferred:


Minimum one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, ideally within the relevant specialty of the organization.
