Job Overview:

The Lead Bartender at American Bounty is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to all patrons while ensuring that all equipment, practices, and inventory are maintained to the highest standards. This role operates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests, adhering to established recipes.
  • Provide attentive service to bar guests, collaborating with servers from The Tavern and the American Bounty dining room.
  • Assist in serving food and beverages at the bar and support table service in the dining area.
  • Guide students and staff in accurate point-of-sale procedures.
  • Innovate and test new cocktail and mocktail recipes for all dining venues.
  • Engage in student cocktail projects, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Recommend beverage options to guests, servers, and students.
  • Oversee all preparatory tasks and maintain accurate inventory levels at the bar.
  • Assist in training new Beverage Stewards within the department.
  • Follow established storeroom and bar workflow processes diligently.
  • Receive and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Label and store received items according to directives.
  • Safely organize inventory in compliance with established standards.
  • Utilize inventory management software for tracking product movement.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and participate in audits as required.
  • Manage an assigned cash bank and adhere to all cash handling protocols.
  • Ensure the security of physical barriers, maintaining a safe environment.
  • Keep bar and warehouse areas clean and organized.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and relevant policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: At least one year of experience in cocktail preparation, inventory management, and cash handling in a fine dining setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MICROS POS systems.
  • TIPS Certification.

Required Skills:

  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to pass a bar knowledge assessment.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities; adaptable and dependable.
  • High level of service responsiveness to internal customers.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Working Conditions:

Must be available for flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends as needed. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds and stand for extended periods.
