Position Overview:
We are looking for a Lead Automation Engineer to join our Maintenance team. This role involves the installation, modification, and maintenance of process control systems throughout our facilities, alongside providing electrical engineering support, which includes creating electrical designs and schematics. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative, high-performance environment, driving continuous enhancements in automation and control systems while delivering electrical engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the installation and modification of equipment in alignment with engineering projects.
  • Provide ongoing support for all software and hardware components of the plant control network, including PLCs, drives, and communication protocols.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Technicians and Engineers to troubleshoot and resolve PLC system and process challenges.
  • Engage with vendors to enhance equipment performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Utilize SCADA systems to analyze process data and generate trend analyses.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Employ lean manufacturing principles to identify and resolve issues in process control systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 4-6 years of experience in PLC programming and industrial control systems.
  • Proficient in control methodologies, including PID loop configuration and sequential programming.
  • Experience with software such as RS 5000 and Panel Builder.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial instrumentation and control systems.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and the ability to interpret P&ID drawings.
