Job Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Event Beverage Attendant is to ensure outstanding guest service by fostering relationships with patrons, delivering tailored service, and anticipating their needs.
The Barback must have a thorough understanding of the beverage offerings and proactively support bartenders by ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance service standards, ensuring adherence to hotel policies and local regulations.
- Comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards, preparing for inspections as required.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of various alcoholic beverages and maintain familiarity with all food and beverage offerings.
- Execute all bar back duties according to the hotel's standard operating procedures, including the proper handling and storage of beverage requisitions, setting up event bars with appropriate glassware and beverages, polishing glassware, preparing garnishes, stocking ice, and breaking down event bars.
- Perform all assigned banquet sidework, including cleaning bar and beverage equipment, portable bars, and surrounding areas.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet bar areas as directed by management.
- Adhere to proper waste disposal procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation related to bar setups and breakdowns, including requisitions and count sheets.
- Collaborate with bartenders to ensure all supplies are replenished throughout events.
- Contribute to the sanitation and timing of service in all banquet areas, ensuring quality control from preparation to delivery.
- Follow proper service protocols for all banquet events, ensuring high standards of bar setup, service, and presentation.
- Report any maintenance or housekeeping needs in banquet areas and equipment to management.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in all banquet spaces, both front of house and back of house.
- Ensure all furniture, fixtures, and equipment are well-maintained, minimizing breakage through careful handling.
- Execute all instructions on Banquet Event Orders accurately.
- Assist in managing food and beverage quantities to prevent over or under-preparation.
- Provide exceptional guest service, addressing complaints effectively to transform dissatisfied guests into repeat visitors.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, creating memorable experiences.
- Stay informed about hotel offerings and local attractions.
- Attend daily meetings to gather relevant information before events.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment among colleagues.
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Omni Hotels & Resorts standards.
- Act swiftly and effectively in emergency situations, ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Participate in all required training and departmental meetings.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should possess hands-on knowledge of food and beverage operations and a solid understanding of the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a banquet bar setting within a large hotel is highly preferred.
- Flexibility to work varied hours during peak times and special events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and problem-solving abilities, paying attention to detail.
- Ability to engage with guests at all levels, demonstrating a passion for providing personalized service.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Must handle stressful situations with professionalism and composure.
- Punctuality and reliability in attendance are essential.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
- Adherence to appearance standards and personal hygiene is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort in interacting with guests and team members.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with payroll systems, Micros, and POS systems is required.
- Serve Safe certification and unexpired TIPs certification are mandatory.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Work primarily indoors in restaurant and kitchen areas, with exposure to varying temperatures and humidity.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Capability to bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs, with the ability to push, pull, or carry up to 100 lbs.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals is possible.
