Daytime Packaging Associate

Key Responsibilities:
1. Arrive and clock in at least a few minutes before your scheduled shift to facilitate effective communication for a smooth transition.
2. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout procedures, and emergency protocols. Report any safety concerns or suggestions to a supervisor or production trainer.
3. Continuously enhance your understanding of the products and production methods through hands-on training.
4. Each team member must verify their comprehension of daily product specifications by reviewing and signing off on the product specification sheets at the beginning of the production run. This includes:
a. Monitoring weights as necessary, ensuring only those at specified weights are packed.
b. Accurately counting items during the packing process.
c. Correctly applying tape and labels on external packaging.
d. Following proper stacking patterns on pallets and ensuring pallet tags are utilized as required.
5. Conduct visual inspections of products to confirm they are free from defects. Notify the line operator, shift supervisor, shift coordinator, or quality assurance personnel of any quality concerns.
6. Communicate with Material Handlers regarding production packaging requirements in a timely manner to prevent any interruptions in workflow.
7. Execute specified quality checks as necessary.
8. Complete daily line packaging reports accurately and thoroughly by the end of each shift.
9. Conduct a comprehensive turnover with the incoming shift.
10. Maintain a tidy, organized, and clean workspace throughout the duration of the shift.
11. Fulfill required cleaning tasks at the conclusion of the shift.
12. Assist in the onboarding and training of new staff members.
13. Be adaptable to work across multiple production lines as needed.
14. Collaborate effectively with colleagues by providing assistance when necessary.
15. Be available for overtime and perform additional duties as required.
Job Specifications
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience: Previous production experience is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to maintain pace in part picking are essential. Basic math skills are necessary. Flexibility, initiative, and teamwork are crucial. Must be capable of following instructions precisely and adapting to varying daily tasks.
Equipment Operated: Pallet jack (both electric and manual), tape machine, bottle filler, Speedee filler, inkjet machine, pallet wrapper, various scales, cartoning, labeling, and assembly equipment, auto-bagger, mop, bucket, broom, dustpan, and shop vacuum.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for 8 hours is required.
