Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including unit dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and stock orders.
- Perform medication deliveries and distribute medications to patient care areas using barcode scanning technology.
- Fill medication requisitions and type labels for ambulatory and discharge prescriptions.
- Manage inventory in all pharmacy areas and automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) and charge stock orders, ADC shrinkage, and patient and clinic requisitions.
- Provide information and triage phone calls to the appropriate individual within the pharmacy department.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by certified technician specialists, pharmacists, or pharmacy managers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Previous hospital-related experience, formal training, or certification from a pharmacy technician training program desired.
- Must be a registered Pharmacy Tech Trainee with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions with accuracy, precision, and dependability.
- Ability to work accurately under stress with time constraints.
- Ability to perform common mathematical calculations associated with preparing non-sterile, extemporaneously manufactured pharmaceutical products and other medication doses.
