FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

The Team Coordinator will oversee a collaborative teaching and learning team. This role encompasses a quasi-administrative function, acting as a liaison between the school principal and team leaders regarding the performance, needs, or concerns of the team and their students. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Facilitating the instructional planning of the team to ensure alignment with educational objectives.
  2. Conducting regular team meetings.
  3. Creating instructional schedules and overseeing child supervision.
  4. Organizing and participating in instructional activities alongside team members and students.
  5. Managing student placement and grouping.
  6. Acting as an intermediary between educators and the principal concerning student discipline, development, and parent engagement.
  7. Selecting and procuring instructional resources.
  8. Coordinating the use of facilities and equipment.
  9. Delegating responsibilities and authority within the team.
  10. Supervising and evaluating student teachers and paraprofessionals.
  11. Enhancing school-community relationships, including fostering parent involvement in educational activities.
  12. Communicating and clarifying school policies to team members.
  13. Collaborating with the principal on ongoing staff development initiatives.
  14. Assisting the principal in developing evaluation and feedback mechanisms to enhance the educational program.
  15. Coordinating the administration of student medication.
  16. Assuming leadership responsibilities in the principal's absence.
  17. Performing additional tasks as assigned by the superintendent or immediate supervisor.
