Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at the West Virginia Department of Education. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing educational services to students with special needs in an elementary setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide instruction and support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and small group settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for all students
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and involve them in the educational process
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with special needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Working Conditions:
This is an itinerant position, which means you will be working in various schools and locations throughout the state. You will be required to travel to different locations and work in a variety of settings.
