Job Title: Part Time Patient Care Technician

UPMC Jameson's Critical Care Unit is seeking a Part Time Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care, including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
  • Assist with physical, respiratory, and cardiopulmonary therapies.
  • Provide feedback to the RN regarding patient care and report changes in patient status.
  • Perform UPMC nursing core nursing assistant responsibilities, including ADLs, vital signs, and specimen collections.
  • Assist with phlebotomy, 12-lead EKG, and other advanced skills as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of general healthcare experience or completion of a nursing program clinical rotation.
  • Successful completion of UPMC patient care technician class and basic information system training.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
