Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

The primary objective of the Event Service Attendant role at Chicago Marriott Naperville is to deliver exceptional service to all patrons. This position entails taking food orders, serving beverages, crafting cocktails, and fostering a welcoming environment that enhances customer satisfaction and drives sales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Prepare beverages according to established recipes.
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks promptly and courteously.
  • Take food orders and actively promote menu items to guests.
  • Provide tailored recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu to assist guests effectively.
  • Utilize coffee machines to prepare specialty beverages as per standard procedures.
  • Maintain composure and efficiency during peak service times.
  • Participate in team meetings as required.
  • Adhere to uniform standards and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Set up service areas, including bar stations and dining setups.
  • Engage with guests to gather feedback on their experience and address any concerns.
  • Input orders into the point-of-sale system for accurate tracking.
  • Conduct cash handling procedures at the start and end of shifts.
  • Notify management of inventory shortages to maintain service quality.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of service areas.
  • Utilize dishwashing equipment to maintain cleanliness of service items.
  • Complete assigned tasks at the end of each shift and report any issues to management.

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE

  • Uphold a high standard of personal grooming and uniform compliance.
  • Welcome guests and team members with a friendly demeanor.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks while providing excellent service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

SAFETY AND SECURITY PROTOCOLS

  • Report any unusual behavior or incidents involving guests or staff.
  • Ensure the security of guests and property by following established protocols.
  • Recognize and address situations involving intoxicated guests appropriately.
  • Promote responsible alcohol service and prevent underage drinking.
  • Adhere to safety and health regulations at all times.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and technology.
  • Regular lifting of items up to 25 lbs., with occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout the venue.
  • Engage in various physical activities, including reaching and bending.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certification in responsible beverage service is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is preferred.
