Lead Product Owner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Product Owner to lead a key initiative focused on artificial intelligence (AI) across our organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in AI product implementation and experience in leading conversations about AI with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business goals.
  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria, particularly for AI-related features.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of AI market trends to guide product strategy.
  • Drive ideation sessions, capturing AI use cases and benefit hypotheses, and presenting them to senior leadership.
  • Support backlog grooming sessions and sprint planning meetings, ensuring alignment on AI initiatives.
  • Create and present decks for AI use cases to drive organizational adoption.
  • Ensure that delivered AI products meet quality standards and customer expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in product ownership or product management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodology.
  • Past experience working on machine learning and AI projects, with a focus on product ownership/portfolio management and the ability to capture AI model requirements.
  • Ability to lead conversations about AI with senior leadership and ask thought-provoking questions to develop AI use cases.
  • Strong experience in chatbot, NLP, or generative AI product implementations (minimum 1 year of experience), with AI as the core focus of the product.
  • Experience writing user stories, maintaining Jira boards, supporting backlog grooming with the Scrum Master, and ensuring scope is aligned with customer expectations.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical and AI-related concepts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong presentation skills to articulate AI initiatives to leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scaled Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager).
  • Experience in the health insurance industry or related field.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar agile project management tools.
