Position Overview
The Vice President of Community Inclusion and Engagement at Nhcchq is a pivotal role that reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer. This position is dedicated to enhancing and advocating for community involvement and diversity initiatives. The VP will play a crucial role in fostering an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) within the organization and the communities served.
Strategic Development & Implementation
The VP will be responsible for crafting and executing a thorough strategy for community involvement and DEIB initiatives that align with the organization's core mission and values. This includes promoting an inclusive workplace culture that welcomes and supports all employees. The strategy will also encompass public engagement efforts that encourage philanthropic activities and volunteerism among staff.
Engagement with Stakeholders & Community Relations
Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, including employees and community organizations, is essential for driving impactful community initiatives. The VP will lead the organization in hosting community impact events that benefit employees, the organization, and the local community.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Initiatives
The VP will oversee the DEIB strategy, focusing on fostering inclusive employee engagement, cultivating a diverse workforce, and enhancing community health outcomes. This role will also involve developing annual metrics to track progress and inspire leaders across the organization to fulfill DEIB commitments.
Community Board Engagement
Collaborating with the executive leadership team, the VP will identify community boards that align with strategic priorities and offer career development opportunities for emerging talent.
Reputation Management
In partnership with the Strategic Communications team, the VP will create strategies and messaging that effectively communicate the organization's impact in DEIB and community engagement to relevant audiences.
Research & Best Practices
The VP will remain informed about emerging trends and best practices in community engagement and DEIB within the healthcare sector and human capital management.
Leadership & Guidance
This role will provide leadership and direction to Nhcchq, its Blue Plans, and both internal and external stakeholders, promoting a strong commitment to community engagement and DEIB. The VP will manage philanthropic initiatives, including charitable contributions and employee volunteer programs, that align with the organization's values.
Education, Training, & Professional Development
The VP will develop and implement training programs to enhance awareness and understanding of DEIB issues and best practices. Collaborating across all human resources functions, the VP will work to embed diverse educational strategies and support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to strengthen DEIB efforts.

- In-depth knowledge of healthcare policies and practices.
- 15+ years of overall business experience, preferably in healthcare.
