We are seeking a skilled Roofing Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive roof maintenance to reduce roof leaks, minor roof repair, and maintenance of windows, waterproofing, and sealing building exteriors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and clean roof surfaces to identify defects, water-entry points, and damage
  • Perform minor flashing, gutter, and downspout repair
  • Maintain windows, waterproofing, and sealing building exteriors
  • Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or high-lift equipment
  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and building materials
  • Work safely and promote a safe environment
Requirements
  • High School/GED
  • Two to six years of prior successful work experience in the roofing or building trades
  • Roof repair experience with built-up roof procedures, including coal tar pitch and asphalt
  • Experience with roof replacement using composition shingles, EPDM rubber, and single-ply and other roll goods roof systems
  • Ability to work on ladders, scaffolding, or high-lift equipment
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and completely
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive team standing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical training
  • Four years of prior successful work experience in roofing or building trade
  • Two years of post-secondary education in the building trades with two years of prior successful experience in roofing or building trade
