Your responsibilities:

The Engineering Manager - Automation will guide a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, overseeing the design, execution, and upkeep of cutting-edge automated systems. This position requires not only technical proficiency but also robust leadership and project management capabilities to ensure that all automation and continuous improvement initiatives are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of performance. Beyond managing automation projects, the Engineering Manager will lead ongoing improvement efforts to enhance manufacturing processes and minimize costs. A primary focus will be on the digitization of operational processes, integrating digital technologies to enhance data collection, analysis, and decision-making.

Key Duties:
  • Guide and mentor a highly engaged team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Technicians.
  • Establish effective communication management strategies with senior management, emphasizing the delivery of business objectives, efficient resource allocation, and effective risk and issue management.
  • Evaluate a variety of projects to facilitate staffing, resolve resource allocation conflicts, and monitor staff utilization on activities that will generate the highest business value aligned with prioritization processes.
  • Influence talent strategy within the department. Regularly coach team members and peers to enhance team performance.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive automation strategy that aligns with franchise and site objectives.
  • Stay informed about the latest automation technologies and industry trends.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the design, programming, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements through automation and continuous improvement.
  • Support the continuous improvement team in reducing costs and improving product quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the digitization of operational processes.
  • Integrate digital technologies to improve data collection, analysis, and decision-making.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing transformational automation programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of automation integration systems.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, HMI, robotics).
  • Strong understanding of automation software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python).
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and mechanical design tools.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in automation.
  • Understanding of electromechanical systems and control systems.
Travel Requirement: 30%
