The Manufacturing Process Specialist is responsible for identifying and implementing the most effective production techniques for tailored prosthetic dental products, overseeing the entire lifecycle from product development to efficient manufacturing.
This role involves evaluating engineering specifications to determine suitable production methodologies, developing initial design concepts, and facilitating the creation of necessary tooling.
The specialist will provide engineering oversight for assigned production processes, which includes daily monitoring, troubleshooting, enhancing processes, and developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the manufacturing environment. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate projects with teams at various production facilities as needed, driving improvements in product cost, quality, and performance through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) practices.Key Responsibilities:
Facilitates new product introductions by aiding in the setup of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and supporting Equipment and Process Validation activities.
Maintains stable and efficient performance of assigned production lines.
Acts as the first point of contact for urgent production issues, implementing temporary solutions followed by permanent fixes as necessary.
Monitors and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to management, developing action plans to address process-related challenges and successfully transitioning red KPIs to green status.
Responsible for the ongoing enhancement of assigned production lines and sustaining achieved improvements, such as reducing costs and increasing quality, yield, and productivity.
Serves as the primary representative for the Envista Business System (EBS) on their assigned production lines.
Analyzes data and KPIs using statistical methods to make informed technical decisions.
Proactively engages in proposing, participating in, and leading Kaizen initiatives.
Evaluates project or task requirements and collaborates with relevant cross-functional teams to address any gaps.
Develops and implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provides training to production staff on these procedures.
Ensures production lines operate smoothly by resolving equipment and process-related challenges with a proactive and dedicated approach.
Supports Global Process Owners (GPOs), fellow engineers, and management on various assigned projects.
May require travel to support other functional teams, participate in company events, and engage in training and continuous improvement activities as necessary.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
A minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in a regulated industry such as medical, aerospace, or automotive
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt certification is advantageous
Preferred:
Experience with CAD/CAM and 5-axis CNC milling machines is desirable.
Experience in FDA-regulated and/or ISO environments is a plus.
Demonstrated success in validating manufacturing processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) is preferred.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Proficient in statistical tools, lean manufacturing, or process optimization techniques.
Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of processing data, analyzing information, thinking critically, identifying root causes, and resolving complex issues.

Compensation:
Compensation packages are tailored to each candidate, taking into account various factors such as geographic location, skill sets, relevant education and certifications, experience level, performance, and organizational needs.
The disclosed salary range is not adjusted for geographic differentials associated with the position's location.
Typically, candidates are not hired at or near the top of the salary range for their role, as compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances.
The total compensation package may also include performance bonuses, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K matching, and other applicable compensation plans.
