Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Chemist to join our team at Stryker, a leading medical device company. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading analytical chemistry testing for new product development and changes to medical devices currently on the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Analytical Chemistry Testing: Conduct and oversee analytical chemistry testing for new product development and changes to medical devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lab Management: Lead day-to-day lab activities, including coordination of preventative maintenance, calibration, purchasing, lab metrics, and sample organization activities.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including GC-FID, GC-MS, ICP-MS, and TOC.
  • Root Cause Analysis and Troubleshooting: Lead root cause analysis, equipment trouble shooting, and out-of-specification investigations.
  • Training and Development: Coach, mentor, and train junior scientists and other functions in area of analytical chemistry.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or chemical industry.
  • Skills: Knowledge of cGLP, cGMP, ANSI, AAMI, ISO, FDA, and USP guidelines; experience with LIMS and statistical software; effective communication, project management, and influencing skills.
