Job Title: Business Development Manager

Join TECO Energy as a Business Development Manager and lead the development of compressed natural gas (CNG) and other natural gas solutions for use by vehicles throughout Florida.

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for planning and development activities to meet the growing demand of natural gas solutions for vehicles. This includes origination, negotiation, and execution of contracts for CNG fuel customers, as well as strategy development, regulatory filings, and market assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the growth of TECO's CNG business development with transportation customers (transit buses, heavy duty/medium trucks, and waste haulers) using CNG.
  • Negotiate agreements for CNG infrastructure investments with transportation customers, including proactive initiation and execution of management reviews and approvals of business and strategic rationale and strategies.
  • Manage accounts of existing TECO's CNG customers in Florida and develop a commercial network in Florida and the southeast US to leverage relationships for future business opportunities.
  • Oversee the implementation and administration of personnel management programs, including staffing, succession planning, performance management, and training and development.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the energy industry through keeping abreast of alternative fuel market dynamics, technology improvements, gas market conditions, legislation, rates, and tariff requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in the field of business, marketing, engineering, economics, finance, science, math, or related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years related experience in commercial, financial, or business planning, regulatory or engineering.
  • Experience must include a minimum of 4 years performing similar duties and responsibilities of this role.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of alternative fuels, including CNG and RNG services and strategies, with competitive market understanding.
