Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and support instruction planned by the lead teacher
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of students' academic and behavioral support plans
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and teachers based on trust and respect
  • Perform health-related procedures as needed
  • Escort, assist, and/or supervise students during play periods, movement, and other designated times
  • Prepare materials as directed by the lead teacher
  • Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement
  • Attend critical school events, including staff meetings, open houses, and family conferences
  • Meet professional obligations, including timeliness and accuracy in maintaining records
Qualifications

The following are required of all applicants:

  • Experience working with students
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • 60 hours of college credit or Certification via the Paraprofessional Assessment
  • Bachelor's degree and certification in special education preferred
Physical Abilities

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Lift up to 25 pounds, unassisted
  • Lift more than 25 pounds, or student's weight, with assistance
