Job Summary

As an Assistant Manager in our Housekeeping Department, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day activities of Rooms Operations. This entry-level management position focuses on working with employees to carry out guest arrival and departure procedures and maintain the property's cleanliness standards. You will strive to ensure guest and employee satisfaction and achieve the operating budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management of Rooms Operations, including opening and closing Front Desk shifts, ensuring completion of assigned shift checklists, and operating department equipment as necessary.
  • Run and review critical information contained in room operations reports, understand the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services operations.
  • Communicate performance expectations to employees, handle employee questions and concerns, and effectively schedule employees to business demands.
  • Contribute to managing departmental controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals, understand the impact of Room Operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives.
  • Provide a positive example for guest relations, interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels, and effectively respond to and handle guest problems and complaints.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with 1 year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area.
