POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Support division at Gaumard Scientific comprises skilled professionals who assist users in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges associated with our extensive range of human patient simulators. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding interpersonal abilities and is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys engaging with users to address technical concerns, ensuring prompt resolution of customer inquiries, and supporting internal teams with product-related issues.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:

Reports directly to the Technical Support Manager and does not oversee any other roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver product-related assistance through various communication channels for a diverse array of medical simulation products.
  • Record, monitor, and manage issues to guarantee timely solutions.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers via phone, WebEx, or in-person on the operation of medical simulators.
  • Familiarity with a range of industry concepts, practices, and procedures is essential.
  • Utilize experience and judgment to strategize and achieve objectives.
  • Handle a variety of complex tasks with a high degree of creativity and independence.
  • Install new hardware and software and remove outdated equipment as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience in workstation software and hardware setup, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Proficient with: Windows operating systems, MS NT Server, MS SQL, MS Exchange, MS Outlook, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Clinical experience is advantageous.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to extended hours as needed.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High energy level, capable of managing multiple projects alongside routine tasks.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are required.
  • Regularly required to sit and use hands; frequent communication is necessary.
  • Must be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 35 pounds is expected.
  • Effective communication skills (reading and writing) in a professional environment are essential.
  • Specific vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Willingness to work additional hours as required.
