POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Support team at Gaumard Scientific consists of skilled product specialists who assist users in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges associated with our diverse range of human patient simulators. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal abilities and a natural inclination towards problem-solving, enjoying engagement with users to address technology-related concerns and provide effective resolutions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
This position reports directly to the Technical Support Manager and does not oversee any other roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver product-related assistance through various communication channels for a range of medical simulation products.
- Document, track, and monitor issues to ensure prompt resolution.
- Conduct training sessions for customers via phone, virtual meetings, or in-person on the operation of medical simulators.
- Possess familiarity with various concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Utilize experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives.
- Handle a variety of complex tasks.
- Exhibit a significant degree of creativity and independence.
- Install new hardware and software and remove outdated equipment as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, or a related scientific field.
- Experience with installation, upgrades, and repairs of workstation software and hardware.
- Proficient in: Windows operating systems, MS NT Server, MS SQL, MS Exchange, MS Outlook, and MS Office Suite.
- Clinical experience is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to extended hours as needed.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High energy and comfort in managing multiple projects alongside regular duties.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Regularly required to sit and use hands for tasks.
- Frequent communication through speaking and listening.
- Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 35 pounds.
- Effective communication skills in a professional environment.
- Specific vision capabilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Willingness to work additional hours as necessary.
