Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist in our Respiratory Care Services department plays a vital role in administering respiratory care to adult and geriatric patients, under the guidance of a physician's order. This includes oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation. The Therapist must effectively plan, implement, and evaluate therapy, communicating with the physician and healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Responsibilities- Administer respiratory care, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and advanced airway management, under a physician's order.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy, communicating with the physician and healthcare team.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of WakeMed in the management of patient care.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with a preference for experience in emergency/trauma.
- An Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Registration as a Respiratory Therapist, as well as certification as a NC Respiratory Care Practitioner, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 30 days of hire.
This role requires a 7pm-7am work schedule, with weekend and call requirements as needed.
