Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our Gold's Gym - SoCal team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving member satisfaction, and ensuring the overall success of our fitness center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management Tasks:
    • Manage and maintain the gym budget
    • Oversee all sales revenue, processes, and systems
    • Monitor and evaluate the performance of all gym-related managers
    • Manage the hiring, training, retention, and development of all gym staff
    • Primarily schedule all staff, including trainers, managers, and sales teams
    • Delegate, monitor, and evaluate responsibilities and results of sales teams through sales managers
    • Develop succession planning strategies
  • Operational Tasks:
    • Ensure members receive the highest level of service and hospitality in a high-volume retail environment through personal engagement and staff development
    • Execute effective decision-making regarding member service issues
    • Plan, promote, and participate in all special events for the gym on a monthly basis (Corporate Marketing can assist)
    • Maintain the facility at all times using maintenance, janitorial, and housekeeping staff

Requirements:

  • High school diploma (Bachelor's degree strongly preferred)
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Excellent sales, communication, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of marketing, with a promotionally oriented approach
  • Able to direct and drive sales through various methods, including community outreach
  • Ability to understand and successfully implement testing requirements, including gym tours, telephone inquiries, counselor planner audits, guest card audits, lead box/bowl program, referral programs, and corporate outreach programs
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an open, participative leadership style and drive for excellence
  • Ability to achieve and maintain acceptable and aggressive goals for the facility
  • Basic to advanced computer skills
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor
  • Desire to continuously improve and excel
